Re: M/v fando strait
Ships as we knew them, 18 sticks and a jumbo, not much different from the WWII Empire vessel design, few more sticks and accommodation, and gravity davits instead of winding McLachlan, probably a bit faster too........... memories

Keith- please go back to the beginning of the thread and see my reply;-without putting it in six-inch high capital letters therein I said it is the PANDO STRAIT.
I was at sea 20 years, and have been researching ships, especially accidents and incidents and their safety implications for another 20+. Suggest you try not to involve yourself in every post ?-it can be extremely tedious and/or irritating to read and is usually a complete waste of your efforts, and the site server space.
Regards
G.

Quite Right Ivan, but it's not evident to anybody just 'skimming through' a post at unearthly times of the night , and to a non-seafarer the name significance (P and O) would not register. It would be like a hermit monk not knowing what a 'strapless bustier' was. That was a cheap, quick made up analogy, but you get my drift......Listen.gif

I would say that Joe (#4) was more than satisfied with the information supplied and no need for inspector Clueso
