Nothing could bring me out of retirement Keith. Least of all a lot of ugly hazards to navigation. They may look beautiful to some , but just an eyesore to me. Might look alright in a fairground. Cheers JS

Wonderful things these windmills, when the wind blows at the correct rate.
Not much bloody good in gale force winds.

Talk from many opposition MP about the amount of jobs they along with Solar will create.
Well a coal mine along with a power station has about 2000 workers, but not eco friendly maybe.

But wind turbines and solar panels are often made off shore and it requires specialists to install.
Once in only a very small crew to maintain them. so much for the extra jobs!!!!!!!!!!

They have been trying to install wind farms near Stanley for a while now. The locals have been objecting... the usual, we need them just put them somewhere else.....they will harm the wedge tailed eagles etc.
It's a good spot there so very windy and the site apparently isn't too close to the town of Stanley....there's not a lot of population there either.
Our gay guys solar panels are "broken" and don't work, they said... when one went they all went.
Going to install new ones but will have to throw the old ones into landfill.......

Victoria, snap, just up the road from me is the town of Stanley, Co. Durham. they also have wind turbines just on the outskirts. Local nick name for Stanley is the "Windy City" as it is always breezy up there. No eagles though.

John S. & Keith T. This is the only wind mill I would think of coming out retirement for. I wonder how long the waiting list is for a maintenance position!!!

John, I agree with your comments regarding wind turbines. I would go as far to say that installing these monstrosities as far as Scotland is concerned will do more damage to Scotland than any other previous event in Scottish history.
