Re: Whoops
As regards dragging anchor, reminds me of the story that went around of the candidate up for his orals.
Examiner you are at anchor with no engines and the wind freshens from the NE what do you do
Candidate Payout more cable.
Examiner the wind backs to the North and increases and dragging again and no more cable.
Candidate drop another anchor and payout all the cable
Examiner The wind increases further and veers to the south and you are dragging again and you are on a
lee shore.
Candidate drop another anchor and pay out the cable.
Examiner Where are you getting all these anchors from .?
Candidate. The same place you are getting all these winds.
Examiner .. 6 months seatime matey.

Re: Whoops
Hmm...well THIS may be the 'puzzle in a post' vessel.
Pic 1 is Happy Daze's original seen from starboard side after the containers have been lifted off in the salvage operation ,and Pic 2 is taken from the port side with her containers still on.Does anyone agree?

This LINK may help ?

Although looks close, dont think its the same ! The Bow is different (White) at Top and the Crane Booms are set at a different configuration.
Cheers

Re: Whoops
Just a few observations on original vessel (as opposed to Sagittarius)
No 2 Crane stowage is aft on bridge (Sagi is midships)
Extended deck for'd on original, but no fashion plate as on Sagi
#1 crane pillar is right aft of raised deck, on Sagi there is a container slot distance
Container gate slots for'd bridge are more than Sagi substantial than
Sagi has separate foremast for navigation light, original vessel's is incorporated into crane jib crutch

Re: Whoops
The only reference to this photo that I can find is from a forum for Ikiteboarding.com going back to the 11th March 2010. So the picture must be at least 12 years old. The filename for the photo is Ship2.JPG, so no clues there. It is an Indonesian kite board website so presumably the photo is somewhere off one of the many hundreds of islands and the group probably a bit brassed off as not being able to kite board as there is a large ship in the way. Sorry of not being able to help further.
