The new mutation continues top spread here in Oz, but no deaths so far.
But is going to put a damper on many who had the hope of going interstate for the holidays.
SA and WA say borders may , or most likely will stay closed for now.
We have had to make changes as going to SA is now a bit of a risk, got caught out last year with last minute changes to the rules.

Isolating for up to seven days to enter SA is not an option for us.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

As said, NSW records 325 Covid cases and one death with the Omicron variant,
hope all works out but, only one is needed to transmit more.

Like any debt, give back what was loaned before asking for more, the UK
will always try to help and Britain leads the way.

There are many sites where "true data" can be found. I have checked world meter right from the outset and there are others that can be found. Why the obsession with knowing "true Numbers" in Australia is beyond me when England is doing so poorly.
Went into main shopping centre in Derby yesterday, and despite mandatory mask law from government there was about 40% of people ignoring this law, mainly younger generation. Until we can all understand what is going on in England it will do no good worrying about other places.
Let's fix the U.K. then maybe help others, when we're safe.

When some have repeated over a long time it is like flue and will be over in weeks,
have seen many deaths and wondered how some can be complacent. Pos near two
thousand lost is not as great as ours but, one death is enough.

PS: Not helping other countries will not help us. We will not be safe but safer and
these other countries may become more rife with other varients / threats to us.

Keith, this is a world wide problem, and will be with us for years to come, all countries must attack this thing together, it no good any one country believing they can isolate itself from it, and help has to come from the more wealthy countries, kt

He came out with a story about this old mate he had sailed with who had been on the ship about 10 years , and when he asked him the days work, he said , just go round the derricks and chip and scrape and touch up the rusty parts. The bosun gave him a funny look saying you do know they are made of wood don’t you ? He didn’t get past that bit but knowing the bosun he would not have repeated that story on that ship as would have made the old mate the laughing stock thereafter . That bosun was Chow , Cappy, I knew my derricks were steel and was much younger. Whether that mate had been under the apprehension for 10 years that he had steel derricks , or was just suffering a seniors moment I don’t know and don’t want to. Cheers JS ....
three ships bosuns out of shields ......kenny chow .....brian williams .....seppy kincaid ...top notch seamen.....all respected ...people new that they were what was needed fair weather and foul......dont know any now all gone ...and to see someone who has never been to sea comment on PROPER SEAMEN makes me sad ......he wouldnt have lasted betweeen brighams and the south pier of shields on any vessel i was ever one .....but such is life sadly ........cappy R683532

I'm glad we have a dedicated Covid thread, because I would not have known whether to post this in the Swinging the Lamp or the Jokes forum...

ITALY : MAN WEARS FAKE ARM TO TRY TO DODGE JAB

A man who wanted a Covid vaccination certificate without actually having had the jab arrived for the vaccine with a fake arm.
He turned up for his appointment in Biella in the Italian region of Piedmont with a silicone mould covering his arm. However, the nurse who was about to inject him was not fooled and she reported the man to the police...Nurse.jpg

We have a bus going round the Island, and giving the booster jab to people who cannot get out easily to the main centres, and would you believe it they had a anti vax protest jab group who surrounded the bus protesting. They were escorted away, the report said, unbelievable . This is one occasion where i think its Germany, are saying its your right not to have the jab, but you are not allowed in any shops, pubs, restaurants, leisure centres etc, what a bloody good idea, kt
