I was part of a Rugby team travelling back from the Isle of Wight in the 80s. We went into the Still and West for a beer or two, and one of the boys was propositioned by a lady. He asked if she would offer a group rate for the entire team, she was thinking about it! He however got cold feet.

Yes I recall the price bon the shoe.
Made a mistake one day though, picked the wrong one, the number on hers was the shoe size.

Never went to Pompey whilst in the MN but because of the silly 6pm closing time rules then in place , the upstairs lounge in the Great Northern Hotel in Auckland was wonderful for picking up girls, all free provided you paid for the grog and treated them with respect. Happy daze!!
