No Lewis it is $1.599 per liter. But displayed in the servos as 159.9

Actually it is the same system here, it's a psychological thing, looks cheaper at 159.6 than it does at 159.9 but don't make a hap'worth of difference when filling up
Re: The Ever Given, the aftermath....
Who buys petrol as we used to?, 4 gallon etc, i know its now in litres, but i only ever go in and fill it up, so i must have been hard up years ago to order it by the gallon, mind, that was when someone used to put it in the tank for you, no such thing now. When self service petrol started, it was always cheaper than assisted service, now all gone, kt

Me too Keith, just go in and fill up, just look at the end price, in case the cashier gives me the bill for the guy filling up his Bentley at the next pump.
Re: The Ever Given, the aftermath....
Just watch what happens to the price of fuel once the lock down and the country opens up. I am saving probably £120 a month now. I am currently only needing to fill up once a month now.

Ha Ha Keith, you just remined me, 1/2 a gallon per week in my old Panther motor bike, 2/6d, almost all my pocket money. Think I pushed it further than I rode it.
Re: The Ever Given, the aftermath....
Tony changed days , motor cycles have a higher fuel consumption than most cars
Re: The Ever Given, the aftermath....
We had about 16 weeks in total lock down, saved some $600 in not bying fuel.
But now the price is up and we have no choice, pay or walk.
But a lot of the servos now do not have much in the way of service, swipe your credit card before you begin to fill, then when you hang up the pump you get charged.

Moving on from the price of a litre of petrol, the crew of the ever given fear that they could be trapped on board whilst legal wrangling takes place over the demands for compensation made by the canal authority
Are settled. Also even if and when the ship is released its cargo may not be allowed to be discharged until all the legal cases against it have been settled.

Re: The Ever Given, the aftermath....
Latest on the legal wranglings between the vessels owners and the canal authority, apparently the canal pilots had a conversation with the canal authority as to whether or not given the weather forecast the vessel should be allowed to transit without tug assistance.
