That sort of thing is happening ashore as well.
Our Post Office tried something similar, failed and the CEO gone.
It will continue in all industries at some time, always someone who thinks they can do it better

I was at H&W during my engineer apprenticeship and remember seeing the Ulidia being built - not sure if I saw the big lift though and did spend a bit of time on board her but mainly in the engine building sheds and worked on the biggest engine they built - the B&W 1000mm bore. Interestingly every day they checked the bed plate to see if it was still aligned as the tide on the river outside moved the ground just a fraction so it was finally bolted up and built and I still have a photograph of me on the plates during the test run.
