#26 Hi everyone. I didn't say England was the oldest country, clearly, Egypt 3100BCE and others are older. I said England is the oldest unified country. Unified in the 10th century (927) by King Ethelstan. According to the English Dems a unified England is even older than that, in the 8th century, that's even older than unified China. England has a lot to be proud of. it whenever a person or a country shines , others look for faults, jealousy or otherwise, and seek to downgrade such. England is England and evermore shall be so.I come from split parentage both English and Scottish but would never be taking in by the false myths built up around Bonny Prince Charlie. Maybe that’s where the myth about Scotland and France derives from. The Bonny Charles just maybe he had the tendency to be a cross dresser, he liked wearing a wig and fancy silk hose of French design. JS
Maybe the wee Scots womans ambition is to follow Joan of Arcs career and sees herself as a French saint. JS
To annoy the Scots, Welsh or Irish, say “England” when you mean Britain. To annoy historians, say “Britain” when you mean England. Getting the distinction right may be difficult – but it’s important.
Many long moons past there was a Scotsman who cried 'Freedom' they cut off his head after he was hanged, drawn and quartered.
Maybe that funny little Scottish female you speak of could become the head of a new flag, for those who really want to leave.
I can just see her now with her entorage of all 20 followers marching down the high street behind the flag crying 'Freedom" in a very quiet voice one might add.

I don’t mind spelling dragon backwards , but refuse to put a whole post A about T . Youll have to persevere with your reading studies. Try using a mirror . You should be good at some of these weird crosswords I can never do, that’s one advantage you have. Cheers JS
