Cruise ships in 1940’s 1950’s
Dad was on Empress of Canada and other cruise ships after the war.
Wonder if anybody has any stories about these ships?
Maybe one for dad, grandad or great grandad ?
Thank you
Bob

I am sure amongst all the old Timers here Robert there should be some Stories of such likes forthcoming. Hope you get some good ones!

My wish is that my dear Late Uncle was still here, as i know he could have told some really good ones of his nearly 33 Years at Sea on the Cruise Ships of many Companies!

Know what you mean Ivan however i think its just a matter of Speech on this point?
Although many of the older Liners had their Routes i think one could say it was still Cruising
Here is a site showing many old Ships and the Routes they took, along with Passenger lists.
Cheers

Indeed, cruising is not so new, though many of the younger generation will think so.
It has been going on for many a long year, but in the early days it was only for the rich, and maybe famous, or maybe not depending on your opinion.

The 3 Empresses
Scotland
France
Canada
Love to know “romantic” stories of guests cruises taking an interest in handsome crew.
Must happen.
But any other stories would be great
Love some that will make my book
