Re: Medals.
Thanks for that Doc. Read the link and seems to require a lot more info than I thought. I shall persevere.

Re: Medals.
I applied some years ago for copies of my fathers medals from WW2. It began by me asking for copies of his army service.
From that they asked me if I wanted copies of medals.
All they asked for was proof of identity to show he was indeed my father.
No worries from then on.

Re: Medals.
Apple can be a nightmare to deal with. I bought my wife an Ipad online and when it locked Apple refused to touch it as, although it was brand new in original packing, it had come from China (to Amazon I thnk). It seemed they just wanted her to buy a new one...

Re: Medals.
#15... Michael tell me about it .I shifted house at the end of August . The actual handover day was made a mess of by some nit wit in the bank not getting the right papers signed by the buyer. The removal people could not be in attendance on that day and the only day available was the day before handover. So I pulled the plugs on desktop and my Apple IPad. I had broadband in the house I was leaving and coming into an aerial existence so thought I was doing the right thing. That was 3 months ago , it was at least a month before I got round to getting the desk top in some sort of order , but not the way it was. However the iPad I couldn’t get back as had lost the password.
Was. Only today 3 months later have got back as Apple Would not divulge.it even with proof of purchase which I traced back to November 2016 , and the only way could get back was to have everything wiped off and start as you would with a new one. Which I had done . So now have lost all addresses etc. To add to the misery I found my. Old password today ...too late was the cry. The screams of frustration must have been heard for miles . Anyone purchasing an Apple computer has my sympathy if they ever forget or lose their password. Even now I have my doubts as having trouble sending. Private emails so once again back to the drawing board . Cheers JS

Re: Medals.
Never knew Apple still did them, thought the I phone was their main product.
I know here in Oz most of the schools used to use them, but not so sure now as most use Dell.

Re: Medals.
I, too, had trouble with Apple last week. After an update, my iPad ‘crashed’. On contacting the Apple Helpline, I was asked for my Apple ID. I didn’t know it, possibly because I’d exchanged my original iPad Pro for a new one in Cardiff when it broke down about 3 years ago. I was told to scan them a copy of my new receipt. I couldn’t scan without my iPad, and I didn’t have another device like a smartphone. To get me back on-line, would mean losing all my data. (This would have included many years work on the Pages app!) i explained that I had tried __ vainly __ to get a new Apple ID by phoning the Helpline at least 4 times over the last 3 years! I do not have another device onto which to download, and you can’t plug a memory stick into my iPad. All my stuff is stored in iCloud., and I can’t access that without an my iPad! I ended up posting my receipt to a friend who then scanned it to Apple. What a palaver! Anyway, 3 days after my computer ‘crashed’ (and Apple wouldn’t admit it was their fault) I went on-line to try again with my friend to re-attempt solving my problem when, on re-starting the iPad, it began to function properly again! No message from Apple, either, so I was in the dark as to how this had happened.
All best,
Brett Hayes

Re: Medals.
They are at it again, two calls today telling me my internet is down and I need to change my password to fix it.
Are they stupid or what, I am at home when they rang on my computer which is, the last time I looked, connected to the net.
