    #1 See the SS Shieldhall although built in 1952 as believe is said, she must also be one of the last riveted ships. ?? JS

    Still see her in Southampton John, and remember standing on Culver cliff here on the Island, some 40 years ago, and watch her steam round in circles, some way off shore, and discharge her *cargo* directly into the sea. Glad that has been stopped now, Southamptons sh** dumped off the Isle of Wight, kt

    The hull of the ship is of both riveted and welded construction.
