Re: MN Vets Rail Cards
During the 6 day war in 1967 merchant ships of all nations were trapped in the Suez canal, I wonder would that apply to uk MN crews being available for that concession.

I was under the impression that this was clear from the wording 'MN Vets'

Re: MN Vets Rail Cards
If you have served as a merchant mariner and seen duty on legally defined military operations you will need to provide a copy of the personal details page from your Discharge Book, along with the vessel name on which you served and the operation name and date.
I can't see anything wrong in entering these details and to be honest Ivan, your becoming to be a pain in the backside with your sarcastic comments.

Toilet rolls and anusol should be with you tomorrow Fouro, enjoy!
All I was doing was let members know of the facility, if that upsets you, so be it. Keep smiling

Re: MN Vets Rail Cards
Mentioned it to a few, no interest.
Avoiding rail and all public transport like the plague, at my age,
spent all my spare cash on a TV license, tell them to stick it, a
few comments from feed back.

What has TV Licence got to do with rail travel, and you would not be eligible anyway not having served at sea in the MN whether in or out of a war zone, many on here have. I am an optimist and look forward to travelling again even though at this time it is not realistically worthwhile. Just passing on a news item where-in a MN Vets Rail Card for three years is cheaper than a Senior Rail Card for two years even if you cannot use the full period of validity. It was just a news item relative to our industry, that's all, if people want to make derogatory comments than that is their perogative
