Re: Then and Now or maybe Now and Then
As kids we used to have what we thought were trick questions e.g “ what’s twice the half of one and a half ?” or
“ If it takes 2 men to dig a hole in two days , how many days would it take for two men to dig half a hole ? “ or
“ Constantinople is a very long word can you spell it ? “. Would maybe show the intelligence of some to see maybe if they were university capable. JS .

One glass of wine too many John #2 you can dig half a hold, but cannot dig half a hole, but even that latter is debatable, especially if you know the diameter and the depth of the hole you want to dig but only get half of it done before you knock off, you gotta a hole but not a whole
Re: Then and Now or maybe Now and Then
Pure spelling mistake that escaped or the computer decided that was how it is spelt Ivan. Your right of course should have been hole. That’s where the badges and medals go next week in the hole in the lapel for Anzac Day. See Big Ben the VC holder here has the media after him for supposedly telling porkies. Don’t think he likes them very much. Should do what most do and just ignore them. I really think that people think fighting in wars should do it as of old , in armour , on horseback and with lances , with a frilly pair of knickers tied to the end of the lance. Going past by the cheap plonk shop today so another $10 = 2 bottles of wine day. Cheers JS.

John, for some 'workers particuarly those employed by council' digging a hole would constitute work so the chance of even a half a hole is remote.
Re: Then and Now or maybe Now and Then
Hi JS, try Bailey and Bailey from WA, great wine in 1 litre bottles at Uncle Dans at a very affordable price.
Re: Then and Now or maybe Now and Then
Another one as kids and am sure most must know was ...
Pick a number in your head,
Double it ,
Add say 50 or any number I give you ,
Half it ,
And take away the number you first thought of.
And you give them the answer , in this case it would of been 25.
Whatever number you give them to add to his secret number , the answer is always half of whatever number you give him to add.
