Again Terry, during my ramblings in this thread, no thoughts of any government of any hue entered my thoughts, my ramblings were purely on aspects of shipping and scrapping, As you well know I try and steer clear of politics because I don't want to disagree with some very nice people

One of the problems this Virus has brought about is a feeling of disspare.
So much doom and gloom about what may or may not happen.
If we continue in such a frame of mind then the worst will occur.
We must look forward with a positive attitude, Yes I know that may be hard just now but it is the only way we will come out of this in one piece.
As to the cruise industry, well if the info I am receiving almost daily then it will recover, as will the aviation industry.

The feeling of total loss and the effect of lock downs is having a detrimental effect on so many, we have kids as young as ten on antidepressants.
Lock downs do not work, nor does looking at the doom side of this.

We are men of the world who have seen it all before, some of you will remember the war, there were times no doubt when you thought that was it, but no you came through because you believed.

    WE never ever gave up.

Next cruise liners for the breakers.....
    Costa Victoria & Costa neoRomantica
    Horizon
    Marella Celebration

Since Fred Olsen bought 2 of the HAL ships they have sold two of their own to become accommodation vessels in Turkey. They are Boudicca and Black Watch
30 cruise ships have either changed hands or are awaiting auction.

I saw that picture either in the paper or in a magazine, but I don't think it said anything about the scraping, it made me think as the mooring was a bit untidy. I thought maybe the companies didn't give a Sh%# about their ships anymore.

Des, there is a Video somewhere of ships being beached at Alang.
There is no worries there about how they park them, just run them up as far as they can on the sand.
