Watching Salvage Hunters on Quest TV
Drew Pritchard the expert who buys and sell goods, considers himself an expert.
He came a cross a flag, white background, red coss, an the Union Flag in the top left hand corner.
He looks at the flag, says looks like it came from a boat.
It was of course the White Ensign, ignorance is bliss.

The saying "if these people had a brain, they would be dangerous" springs to mind.

Trouble is John, he is an expert and is supposed to be knowledgeable. He also makes quite a few quid.

This is one reason why I would never have a television set in the house, apart from the fact I wouldn't pay £157 to the BBC!

Hi Nigel
They do say the more brazen the robbery the more chance of getting away with it. Out here there is as many adds on the ABC as commercial only they're adds that are not adds, at least we don't pay for TV.

Sadly this is the standard of education these days, I recall one year at Tower Hill just after our M.N. Day service ended a chap in his early 40's asked what was going on so we explained to him. His reply was "Don't know about that, I thought there was only one Navy" and he walked off wiping his nose on his sleeve. We must remember that experts have an expertise in telling us what they want us to know - usually wrong.
