Re: Whisky
The new one if nothing else should make ones eyes water if used for an eye wash. The ones using now don’t taste foo good when miss the eye and gave to lick off the lips. JS

Re: Whisky
I always considered the Red Label the roughest on the market.
When in the pubs very few ever asked for it, Bells was all the go back then in the 70's.

Re: Whisky
Its all down to your palate.
When trying a new whisky you need to have two nips. First one to stabilise your palate and the second one to appreciate the flavour.
The fun is trying out new ones (when funds permit). I agree with Bill on both his choices and I have a small collection of various blends and single malts.
Chivas Regal, as a deluxe blend is very palatable and agreeable to me and recently the price looks more reasonable (£20/ 70cl bottle).
I was given a blend called Scottish Leader which I find very smooth and is £17 a bottle so ticks all my boxes.
