Re: Whisky
At one time I used to drink Jamisons.
Never did like Scottish whisky.

Re: Whisky
Hi Dennis,
I have just finished a litre of Jamiesons Irish Whisky,
it was bought as a Birthday gift when I hit 85 four weeks ago,
Never had it before.
I found that it was smoother and more pleasant than Scotch whisky
I will be having more in future.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Whisky
There is no such thing as a bad whisky, just some are better than others. Can't beat a good Islay Malt.
As a matter of interest just found out today is National Whisky Day.

#7: With you on Grouse as top of general blended.
Jameson I like but, seems even better when in County Cork.

Re: Whisky
Hi All,
Not really a whiskey drinker, but when I on the 'Fremantle Star', running to the west coast of North America, we had a surfeit of it. We were trading a bottle of Scotch for a steak sandwich with the the stevedores, but they could not get into the gin store. I had to go ashore to buy a bottle of gin!
Cheers, Paul.

Re: Whisky
#8 That's the whiskey I buy,(Whyte & Mackay), my favourite was Black and White , havn't seen it for years over here ( Ontario), I prefer blended, not only for the price, but single malt is , I think, over rated, stylish, fashionable, all a matter of opinion I suppose.

Re: Whisky
Always remember being in a Scottish port can't remember which one, A ship was loading whisky for Canada as a sling came aboard the wharfie yelled "look out ". to the Checker on the other side of the hatch, he had given the sling a good push, as the checker ducked down the sling came back and the wharfie lifted a case off and slid it under the comings. Unlucky for him across the other side of the dock was another of the Companies ships and the Skipper was on the bridge with binoculars looking her over and saw what had happened, he rang the other Skipper and they were caught.
