Many people are quite amazed when you tell them we get snow here in Oz, they think it is all sunshine and beer.
But on the Victorian and NSW alps there is snow every winter, great skiing for many.
But we also get it on some of the high ground within about 100 Klm of Melbourne.
About 50 Klm from where we live there was a very heavy fall some years back, but up country there area number of small towns that get snow most years.
There has been snow in Melbourne twice since 1960, I have some photos of the last time way back in about 1986.
But we are in a country of differing weathers, drought, floods, heat waves and freezing conditions.
But the beer is bloody good, off for one now.
