    When Jack Hawkins made that film , I beleive he had already been diagnosed with throat cancer, as it was remarked on by the audience around me. Donald Sinden played his first lieutenent and both played Wavy Navy roles. JS..

    Stephen Graham - saw him in Little Boy Blue Terry, an excellent actor. I dare say a few sessions with a voice coach and he will sound as if he has spent his entire life in the Bronx.
