Thanks for that - you are correct that I do have both items. The roll of honour was written some five to eight years back and is fairly accurate. I have several new leads in USA and I am hoping these might bring new information on both ships. I am about due a new break so fingers crossed!

Hi, I came home on the Highland Chieftain as a D.B.S.. I paid off sick from a tramp called the Admiral Codrington.
This was in 1954. Great ship to get me home. Was treated as a paying passenger. All the best to everyone. Frank.
