Was wondering how he was on so many ordinary vessels but he had 40 years available to him in the MN. He would of started as most did after the war on the normal 2 year articles of agreement or maybe coastal articles. By 1960 the 6 months running agreements were out I believe, they certainly were well out by 1964, which would have enabled him to leave vessels legally at shorter notices. Your Dad must have thought like a lot others that variety was the spice of life. Cheers JS

But probably a complete inability to settle to a “normal” civi life
