    The Mardis Gras was floated out of the Meyer Turku drydock in Finland this weekend.
    The ship is 1,130 feet long,180,000 gt. and will carry 5,200 passengers. The ship is expected to enter service in November this year.

    Only about 9,000 people including crew to panic and fight their way into the" lifeboats "

    can you imagine that?
    Not for me, I obly go on small ones with 850 passengers.

    Bit different from the first Mardi Gras, ex Empress of Canada a proper looking liner/cruise ship.

    A bit more on this:

    The float-out of Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras was celebrated Friday at Meyer Turku shipyard. The 180,000gt cruise ship will be the largest in the Carnival fleet after delivery later in 2020.

    Maybe they are not that silly, the future my be that people will have to live on those ships permanently and eat only fish as the land will be untenable.

    They sure are getting bigger, but maybe not better.

    We stick now with Princess which has none over about 3600 passengers.

    Interesting bit on U Tube about cruise disasters since the Titanic, 12 in all and the worst being the Concordia.
