I have a 1962 reprint of the second edition. Wouldn't have been without it for my cadet days.

Re: Bosun's Manual
Thanks for the memories...have just dug out my old Bosuns Manual by William McLeod, revised by Capt Chase, [second edition 1957].Have not looked at it for many years ! Another co incidence of my seafaring days , as the article on memorable ships in Shipping magazine in July last year listed the South American Saint Line vessels St Thomas and St Essylt…………..my first trip as deckboy was on the St Thomas.....they say that surprises come in threes...what is the third one going to be???

Re: Bosun's Manual
Fond memories! I still have most of my books from my time at sea in the 60’s and 70’s: Norie’s Nautical Tables, Danton’s theory and practice of Seamanship, Nichols seamanship, Principles of Engineering Knowledge, ship stability, the Boatswains Manual - and Browns Practical Pocket Book for Merchant Seamen, an absolute gem!

Its only now that one sees the folly of ones youth at times!
I do have some old papers though so not all lost!
