    Default Channel 5 Titanic

A new series starts on Tuesday on channel 5, it's the first of six parts by Rob Bell.
Its how they built the Titanic, could be interesting.

Thanks, though a repeat watching it again now, interesting.

This documentary reveals evidence that a fire was raging in Titanic's boiler rooms before she left port, it was kept secret and, it's now believed, it led to the tragedy.

    Worth a read.

The Titanic Was on Fire for Days Before It Sank

It wasn’t just an iceberg that led to the infamous tragedy

An historic article from our local press on the Island this week, as to why the Titanic was late on its completion, leading to its unfortunate appointment with an ice berg, kt

In the above article, which is obviously not written by a navigator , it describes the actions of HMS Hawke, and the Olympic, which i find quite amazing that the Hawkes skipper was cleared of all blame, and the Olympic was deemed to be wrong. I would be interested the opinion of the navigators on site. As a mere ex AB, i would have thought that the overtaking vessel had a duty to stay clear. kt

More than a century after it was sunk by an iceberg in the North Atlantic, the Titanic was hit again this time by a small submarine.
