Kaap Stad
Cape Town, as I have said before on the fruit run, there was very little time to explore.
One rune third Engineer, I decide we would go for a meal and a few drinks, food on ship generally good, Zulus on coast p***ed out of their minds.
We went to a massive tower block; restaurant was on the top floor overlooking the harbour.
Exiting the lift we were met by mine host in his dinner suit and bow tie, escorted to the bar a few drinks before dinner, which was ordered at the bar.
During the meal there was a gorgeous cabaret singer who entertained us all.
Got a taxi back, few drinks then bed.
Next night, we decided to visit the same place, we had a first trip cadet, who was desperate to go ashore.
We (all of us decide to extract the mickey), goy a sub? Yes, got money for your Leckie bill etc?
The look on his face was astonishing, Leckie Bill? Yes you leave your cabin lights on all day. So do all of you, yes we come to a deal. As his expression turned to despair, we told him it was a wind up.
Anyway, 3E and I took him ashore, same place, greeted like long lost friends.
Even the cabaret singer was full of praise for us.
Arriving back on the ship Cadet, you should see the way these two are greeted even the singer acknowledged them.
