Containers
Ever since the introduction of containers there have been problems with them such as miss declaring it's weight and falsely declaring it's contents. Despite numerous regulations being introduced over the years regarding correct weighing and declaration of contents, there still is a problem with correct declaration of contents. This false declaration of contents has led to a number of of high profile cases of serious fires breaking out amongst containers stowed on board. Shipping companies are hitting back by proposing to levy heavy fines on shippers failing to correctly declare the containers contents.

Re: Containers
Hi John.
There was a news item the other day about the number of containers going overboard in rough weather, I can't remember but I'm sure they said it's in the hundreds of thousands, if that is the case it would be better to go back to dry cargo ships.

Re: Containers
But of course when you are packing tins of tomato's with drugs you will hardly be likely to admit what is in there.
Just how much contraband is carried unknowingly in these ships?
Happy daze John in Oz.
