"Due diligence" should ensure some one fully trained and experienced
should be in control but. seems often lacking today.

    Hi Dennis.
I was on tankers a lot, got issued the salt tablets; but they made me sick, couldn't even swallow them, used to drink a cup of sea water, same difference.

Have used them and some are quite good quality, but find it much more economical and healthy to cook fresh and then have 'left overs' to pick or have for lunch.
Though I must admit that a local lady is advertising very cheap rates for either fresh of frozen meals.

There are others who claim to be able to cook and have met a few in my working life.
Not mentioned in either Vernon's posting or mine.

They are cooks, cuckoos and willful bloody murderers.
Having seen some of their efforts I know how they got such names.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Hey Doc so long ago and we're still telling stories to each other and some are still whoppers which have grown over time. Are you still sailing the Blue Mountains?

    So, along the same lines.
Is a baker a pastry chef?
Have both discharges in my book.

Now hear up young Colin. Once you start involving young ladies to help with the menu, things will alter fast.I was looking in one of our locals looking at the produce for sale and I,m in the veg and fruit asile (caught me out that word) and there are all the spuds/brocali/sweet potatos/beans all nicely done up in a container that gives the cooking orders and Kong no salt. So me I'm very interested in whats there coz the Irish doc I now have say's 'Leave the bread, rice, pasta and spuds alone and eat mostly green stuff with now and then pots (sweet or normal). Eat Italian without the pasta or rice and the same with the rice and curry and you can have one of their big crisps, also because your on antibiotics no wine or ale'. Lads I'v just seen the W.R. heading my way so heading for the book counter. Speak later.

I guess in the early days of steam that all that cooked on ships
were cooks and possibly only the liners then had chefs. K.
