Spain is not very happy bout the seizure of the tanker Grace 1 by Royal Marine Commandos, despite being informed by the plans and relative updates.
Spain claims that the tanker was seized in their national water, whereas the tanker was seized in Gibraltar national waters.

Spain does not recognize Gibraltar water as theirs, they claim all water surrounding the rock are Spanish.

This is all got the makings for a big kick off in the gulf, if the Iranians seize a British ship as threatened by them, the Yanks would row in i suspect, and then the big firework show, kt

I wonder what would have happened if the Iranian troops had had seized a British ship!! I believe it was taken as there is a blockade on Iranian trade, what it has to do with Iran trading with Syria puzzles me, and again what would they have done if the ship was Russian manned?

it is a Russian owned and managed by Russian management company in Dubai, Panamanian flag, Iranian cargo, manned by several nationalities. The cargo destined for Syria was subject to EU sanctions.
So nice little mess, but dont know how Iranians can claim it to be their ship.

I've got mixed feelings over this one because Iran stuck to their antinuclear agreement and didn't expand as per the Treaty stipulated but because the USA decided they didn't like the Treaty and ditched it despite the fact did have been observed it's now put the Iranians on a position where they are suffering from the sanctions . So if you have a sleeping tiger behaving itself obviously you need to poke it with a sharp stick and making angry
