Electric tug
Auckland Port has confirmed its new order of a full-size, fully electric, tug for 2021 delivery from Holland. Climate change is a major consideration though another is the estimated $12-million ($NZ) saving in operating costs over an anticipated working life of 25-years. With a 70-tonne bollard pull this new tug will have the same power as the tug being replaced. All seems good for future visiting ships, including the increasingly large cruising vessels.

Re: Electric tug
In Norway saw an all electric ferry.
Range of only 40 knots but is doing good business.
Part of the push by Norway to be emission free by 2035.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
