Re: Well
On 06 August 1939 over 100,000 pe0ple turned out to see the new Cunard Liner Mauretania come up the Thames after completing her
maiden voyage to the States. She was 772 feet long and 90 feet wide and only just managed to fit into the KGV entrance lock that is
800 feet long and 100 feet wide, she is the largest ship that ever berthed in the KGV.
There is a couple of video clips of this on Google but I don't know how to download them to the site, hopefully someone will have a go at it ?
also it opens up some further Docklands videos that are very nostalgic, cheers

Re: Well
Thanks Keith, it is the same thing but another clip, all I did was Google Mauretania KGV Dock 1939, it came up with two videos but underneath
there is more dockland videos and many others of interest some going back to the twenty's, I was 6 months old when the film was made, and
all those people on the quay would have been unaware that Britain would be at war with Germany in the following month and their lives were
about to change dramatically, thanks again for posting video, cheers
