    Default Turbine Steamer Queen Mary

The TS Queen Mary was saved by enthusiasts last year and was moved from her berth from London to Glasgow.
Yesterday she entered the Garvel Dock in Greenock, or a £370,000 overhaul.
    The overhaul includes:
Non Destructive testing of her hull.
Sand blasting and repainting of her hull.
Removal of prop shaft and renewal of seals.
Strip down and overhaul of her generator.
Removal of additions that were installed when berthed in London.
    Removal and replacement of windows.
When completed, unfortunately she will never sail again under her own power, she will be a static exhibit in Glasgow.

She may never steam again under her own power but she will not go to the breakers yard!

I've seen the Queen Mary several times when she was moored at the Embankment London, she is a lovely looking little ship and was at that
time being used as a restaurant, I knew nothing of her history, just enjoyed looking at her from the Embankment in much the same position as
Captain Scot's Discovery in earlier years close to Cleopatra's needle, both ships went to Scotland for preservation, Scotland's gain London's loss. cheers
