Default Company funnel emblems and flags

I have been visiting a relative in hospital over the last three weeks, and during my visits I had to pass a guy sitting in a special chair; I stopped to speak with him at the beginning of my visits but he could not talk due to having a stroke. On some occasions his wife was with him and just recently told me he was at sea for 20 years as a Lecky.
Altho his voice is slowly coming back his speech is unintelligible.
When I asked his wife which companies he sailed with she could not tell me either, she is over 80 and either can't recall or never really knew.
I thought if I had a poster or similar with funnel/ flag designs he may be able to point with his good hand and it might go some way to helping in his recovery.
I have searched widely but cannot find anywhere I could buy such a thing.
Any pointers from you guys would be appreciated.

There are plenty of Funnel and Flag charts on google. Just a thought that you could download a couple and print them out rather than buy them. Hope this helps.

My one claim to fame which I didn’t realise until much later was when on a clapped out one ship company which have already referred to in a previous post a ship I was on in 1969/1970, The Owner wanted me to put something personal on his all black funnel. So I came up with putting his initials up in white paint. He came on board in Singapore and was made up with it. His initials were RD . So I painted the R facing the other way and used the upright of the R , for the upright of the D. Facing the right way . I left the ship in Japan under somewhat of a cloud , and was only afterwards realised if you looked at the funnel mark in a mirror it would look like DR, which I
thought was quite appropriate. The ship was scrapped so don’t know if that funnel mark was ever used again.

Jump onto the internet and search Merchant navy funnels, there are other sites but its an interesting project to find and print them off.

Thanks for that. I was pointed in the right direction here by several of the boys and I found what I was looking for. Took 8 A4 sheets to print off, but all turned out good.
I am getting positive signals from the guy in hospital but as yet he cant communicate, his speech is coming back slowly but his right arm is useless just now.
I was speaking with one of his family yesterday and it turns out his son is a Chief Engineer currently working as a project manager for Enquest, and one of his grandsons is starting an apprenticeship with Clyde Marine.

Well, I finally made a little progress today; the stroke victim is improving slowly and today I found out that he sailed with Palm Line and LOF; he cant recall the others just yet but his name is Arthur Dunn and he sailed as lecky. He comes from North Shields originally.
