Re: Titanic replica
She is being sponsored and to some part paid for by an Ex Australian politician with far more money than sense.
But as a billionaire he is no doubt allowed to do as he wishes.

Re: Titanic replica
I could be wrong but thought the Australian backing was for
Titanic 2 set to sail in 2022, where the other Titanic is also
being built in China however it will be a part of a tourist resort
and not to sail.

Update:
A Titanic effort! Aerial photographs reveal how the £125m Chinese replica of doomed ocean liner built using the ship's original blueprints is taking shape three years after work began.

Re: Titanic replica
The Titanic that the clown prince of Aussie politics Clive Palmer is building, is supposed to be able to take passengers to sea, or under it.

Oh Des, your most poetic description of our dear Clive, but no he is, or was supposed, to be involved at one time with both. His idea to build the first prompted the Chinese to build theirs.
But as to sailing, Clive would have trouble navigating the parliament building so sailing ship would be some form of nightmare for any passengers.
