Re: gone adrift
I had the biggest extracting of the urine performed on me Tony when some of the crowd complained to the guards on the ship in Shanghai that they weren’t getting the time off to visit their wonderful city. I was invited ashore to the local commissars offices and told I was t treating the crowd with not enough time off. I turned the tables however and finished up with the commisar and his two aides toasting each other kam Sung back and forward in Chinese whiskey , they finished up under the table and I half rolled and staggered back to the ship. Quite an enjoyable day’s run ashore. So one joke that turned up well to my benefit. JS

Re: gone adrift
Sad to hear if indeed Lewis has left the site. His knowledge as a C/eng. will be missed I feel especially amongst the engineers on site. I agree with you Tony in all that you say, unfortunately the keyboard does not always portray that which is trying to be said by the user to unknown recipients, and this sometimes leads to confrontation. When someone is known personally the differences between views are very often respected, especially amongst friends. Let us hope common ground may be found and positivity prevails.

Re: gone adrift
Jim I got an email from him last week, It appeared he was anticipating being kicked of the site. Only our moderators can answer that one. I Couldn't find a post by him that would upset anyone. As you well know he was a sound guy straight as a die just as he was last summer when me you and him met in town for a few pints. If anyone is kicked I think we should be informed by admin, As I often wonder has a certain member passed and none of us are aware Terry.

Re: gone adrift
Terry it is not my place to question the decisions of the moderators they play it as they see it for the goodness of the site as they would say.The last blow up with Lewis to my mind was a bit mild.Lew was taking a lot of stick regarding the froggy French not doing enough to stop these people crossing the channel, not only not stopping them but helping them on their way.Lew replied that the French had arrested many people, now here is the crunch,I cant'remember his exact words but he passed comment something like don't expect the French to stop them coming once you leave the club. The club being the EU (Brexit) which was Verboten to mention.
Regards.

Verbatim, To me Jim is same meaning different word...……………. I take it you mean he was getting up some peoples noses again and again we have been asked to leave politics out of the forum which for me I more or less agree with. I prefer to talk Fish and ships on a M.N. Forum. I will email Lew see if I get a reply as to whether he was pushed or jumped Regards Terry.

Re: gone adrift
Well Lads
Let me Put you all at rest on this issue.
Yes at present Lewis has been put on the Banned list ,this was done owing to various things that he and the Admin were involved in.
I wont say much on what happened but just that he would not Toe the line ,as has been said he did at times have his own ways ,as we all do,but to be doghead and plain stubborn is another thing, and we have Rules ,that he unfortunately did not want t adhere to.
His actual Registration is still valid in the background, and if the Ban is lifted it will automatically renew, but I cannot lift the Ban until he agrees to abide by the site Rules as does every one .
I agree that many of his Threads and Posts are of good interest and I too funnily am a bit sad that this had to happen.but as said Rules are Rules.
Thank You
