The Queen and members of the Royal Family will attend a service of commemoration at the Cenotaph in London.

She will also attend a service at Westminster Abbey, accompanied by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Prince Michael of Kent.

Apart from a wreath being laid at the Cenotaph, I didn't see or hear any mention of the Merchant Navy? Perhaps I missed it?

Can anyone tell me why some WW 1 War Memorials have 1914 - 1919 on and some have 1914 to 1918. I noticed that here on the Wirral the one at New Brighton and the one in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead have 1914 - 1919 on them.

Chris, Armistice was signed on 1/11/1918, which called for the cease fire. Treaty was not formally ratified until 28/6/1919.

Thanks Keith, I must admit to having forgotten about about the Treaty of Versailles, being signed in 1919.

Vic, my apologies mate, I can only claim inattention to detail, oh and old age too, oh and lack of alcohol which I might add will be rectified in the coming hour or so ....
