This story is particularily upsetting Bill as we have direct family links to this wonderful city. Of late we have read of other similar destruction to "Poppy" memorials and displays, theiving of British Legion collection boxes and one "elderly veteran" on collection duties being robbed of some £1500. It truly beggars belief as to the society that we now live in, seems that some have no respect at all. The sentences of such people (if convicted)? need to be extremely harsh.

Catch them, punish them and put them in forces for a few years to learn.

I must fully agree with all that is said here,it is an absolute shame what these Louts do,and then when caught get a pat on the hand and told "Naughty"
The comment about putting these sorts in the Forces is something i think would at ;east teach them a few things of good !
The old Birch is also something that should be brought into play in the Police Force again,it I am sure would Teach them a lesson,
What is this World coming to when things like this happen, and worse besides!
Respect is out of the Window these days as well,
Sadly though all this will just continue to happen,Oh! so very very sad!

I personally don't think the forces would want them I know from this week that the army and presumably the navy and the Air Force have changed the ruling re failing a drug test if it was a first time and in the case of a soldier being a good man a commanding officer had the discretion to keep them on and give them a warning that discretion has been removed fail a military drug test and you're out that day so you know what would happen if you put these lunatics in the army on a Monday they will be tested for smoking drugs on a Tuesday and out on a Wednesday

Doc, my father in law, in the Thirty’s, was sentenced to ten strokes of the birch aged 13, for theft, he never stole again,
