Default Clan Line Steamers Scotland's Navy

The popular Scottish press in the early years of World War 1 dubbed The Clan Line Steamers as Scotland's Navy.
At that time Clan Line was Scotland's largest shipping Company.
There were many reason as to why it was called Scotland's Navy, the following are some of the reasons.
It also had the most ex R.N deck officers and captains of any company.
MAny of its ships were requisitioned by the Australian Government as Transport ships and given the prefix HMAT.
The Admiralty also requisitioned a number of Clan Line ships.
