    Default Australians upset the Americans

Australia and America have been searching for Captain Cook's ship ENDEAVOUR for over two years.
The Australian have stated that the ship has been found of Rhode Island 500mts. from the coast in in water at a depth of 14mtrs.
The ship as expected is in poor condition and there are plans to raise her.
The yanks are peeved about the announcement as they say " it is premature and the Australians are in breach of contract".

All the Endeavors in the world will not bring this ship back to life.
From TV images there is very little left to salvage.
And if salvaged can they claim salvage rights??

I can remember this being on TV about three months ago. I know one thing the Aboriginals will have first pick of the wood for their smoking ceremony's when they change Australia Day.

I was on an Endeavour in 1968 the Maratha Endeavour probably the most bestest of accomodation of any ship was ever on. She was German Built , but must be long gone by now. JS

Best trip I was ever on, though the shortest; was steering the James Craig from Sydney heads to Piermont.

See you have found the Endeavour then Des ? , looks very similar to Cappys , Cappys wobbles though so probably found the barrel of rum. Cheers JS

Somewhere in WA there is a replica Endeavor which looks very good, on TV the other night.
Maybe up the Swan by now, who knows.

Thought she was permanently in Sydney John . She was built in Fremantle just before I arrived in 1991 . One of the survivors off the PA supposedly worked on it and was used as a background to his life story , as he also gave door paid entries to his lectures on the 7 hours he spent in my company on the SP . That is until I replied to the newspaper prompting him in his endeavours to make money. I would of thought what he received in compensation would have kept him for life. Suppose the more you have the more you want , reminds me a bit of Tony Bliar whose life story people seem to have forgotten about. Cheers JS
