Hardships faced by Shields Trawlermen in WW1
Our local paper has published a couple of articles by a local historian regarding the danger trawlermen from North and South Shields faced during WW1, being attacked and sunk by German U boats and being captured and put into P.O.W. camps in Germany, under pretty awful conditions.

Possibly someone on the site may recognise the names of the trawlers or crew names.
