Default A Trip Back To Sea.

Many of us often dream of another trip back to sea and wonder what it would be like.We would like it tobe in our time so a cruise would not be the answer we would want it tobe more of a cargo ship kind of a trip.Whilst a trip on a container ship may not be the answer but i think it would be the nearest thing we could come to.Well now you can do a trip on an ACL ship across the Western Ocean and back at quite a reasonable cost.
    Regards.

Not a bad price there Jim for 30 Days is it?
But Cargo would be the best, there are as posted other places that have Passengers on their Cargo Routes but many are a pick as you find meaning one could be at Sae a lot longer than advertised! But who would care not me LOL
Trampers are the go I feel Jim!

Some years ago we had a member who did a similar voyage.

His was booked though a company in London specializing in such.
It was with a Russian shipping company and you boarded and went where ever the ship went.
You could change ships mid voyage of another ship of the same company.

Maybe this is a similar style of voyage.

I once saw a docu, and it was a trip on the banana boats, ffyfes ?,max 12 passengers, that always appealed to me. I went back to sea when I retired, lol, I did a couple of days on Wightlink, on deck, but after two days they told me that the shifts were going from 8 hrs to 12 hrs, and the shifts started from the mainland. So that was definitely me and ships finished, kt

In 1954 Fyffes charged £80 for a 14 day trip to Kingston, Jamaica. no doubt the same to come back, very expensive in those days. at £28 a month as AB.

Container ships are not in port long enough to enjoy the sights and are berthed mles out of town. The accommodation looks a little sparse.
Not a lot of bronzy on the Western Ocean.
I think I will stay with Holland America. more comfort and facilities and entertainment

Personaly I would prefer an island dodger or rock dodger for sure as one would not know the itinery and being so small hopefully more conducive to mixing with the whole crew. As for liners would rather put my nuts in a vice and set fire to the shed.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.
