150 year old shipwreck discovered off Australian coast

Found this on the internet today and they are looking to trace any living relatives of her crew.
Loaded steel coils in Wollongong back in the 70's. Took ages to load, stevedores on strike regularly and only loading one coil at a time using ships cranes.
Brand new ship on maiden voyage out of Japanese but still had to spend $25000 on modifications to hold access ladders and viewing platforms for stevedores to direct crane drivers from deck view into hold, this despite having a signed certificate from the Aussie water workers federation stating that they had examined the plans and had found them compliant with their rules.
Had a great time, met a number of ex pats who took us up to the blue mountains for a Barbie, also one of them drove us up to Sydney for a night out, wasn't too impressed as they threw us out of a night club for making a fuss over not being allowed back in after leaving to see if there were any better spots, despite having had a reentry stamp on our hands when we paid to enter the first time.

Yes saw that on our TV coverage thanks , it was a good find after so many Years!
Its amazing really when one thinks of the old Wrecks that have been found .
I am sure with time there will emerge some good stories from this old wreck by Families who had relatives of past on her!

It seems the sea is giving up its wrecks.
This one from Canada. Cape Ray Newfoundland. Shipwreck thought to be from the 19th Century washed up early this year, thought Hurricane Fiona dislodged the vessel.

From Orkney, the resent storms on the east coast of Scotland has caused a lot of coastal damage but also a mystery with this wreck.

#1, it appears you experienced normal Oz dockers work skills.
But by the 70's they had improved, needed a bit more 'crap' top go on strike by then.

After all these years I haven't any recall, all I remember is earlier in the evening we had paid to enter but it was dead, the Aussie guy from Wollongong who had driven us up there said we should try a couple of other pubs and come back later as it would be busier then. On leaving we all got one of those reentry stamps on the back of your hand yet on going back a few hours later we were refused entry, although we were not drunk, to get into the club you had to go downstairs and the bouncher who refused us re-entry got very aggressive with us even kicking me on the knee to prove to us that there was no way he was going to let us back in. This was in the kings cross area and we were all pretty disappointed with the place having heard so much about it from others including our Aussie friends.

You should have been in Melbourne in the 60's.
6 o;clock swill but no worries about a drink after time as a Bonafide traveler, but would cost about 2/6 to get in after hours.
