Hi John A.
Slight change from being at sea.
My wife likes to have breakfast by herself with a walk around the garden after. Then at around 8 am she brings in two mugs of tea, we sit in bed and drink them and talk about different things, then I get up around 8\30 and have breakfast, one and a half weetbix while reading a book, smoko at 10am then we have our main meal at 12 noon, good for the health as you don't go to bed on a full stomach. if we don't go out after dinner which we do most days, smoko at 3pam, then at 5pm a light snack watching the rubbish that is called TV these days mainly insurance adds, or read. At 8pm cup of tea and a biscuit then between 10 and 11pm bed. Of course twix all this the dishes and I'm Peggy once again.
Cheers Des
Because everything takes so long I have to start early , takes an hour to get up washed and dressed , but a year ago I needed help , so I am pleased with the hour ,
Routine once instilled never leaves.
Bed at 2300 hours every night, awake at 0500 hours every day.
At 7 I get her indoors her brekie which she has in bed, shower and then have mine.
Lunch Monday to Friday at noon, weekends at 1300 hours.
Dinner at 1800 hours every day unless going out for it the it will be at 1930 hours.
Drink each day once the sun is over the yard arm and a sundowner at 1700 hours every day.
Unluckily? my steady watchkeeping system was ruined when I became a Marine surveyor, mainly doing draught surveys on coal. Hours, 25 per day, 8 days per week and 380 days a year. One year got Christmas lunch on 28th December. On call 24 hours per day 365 days per year, but loved meeting so many seafareres, teaching some and cursing a few dead heads. Most terminals closed for Xmas day but DBCT was operational 365 days per year. But can still wake up and be immediately operational. Some thing you had to be when called in middle of night as master.
The big routine that i HAD to get rid of when i first came ashore, was to go into a pub for a pint, not let it develop into a MN session !!!!kt
