#33 The Bosun wasn’t called Murdo McLeod was he . Have sailed with three of them and knew of six. I really believed
that there was only people called Murdo McLeod who lived on Stornaway. Have never heard of a Smith or a Brown from there. Never even heard of one called Jock, so definitely a surname of Strap would not even appear funny. Agree they were all good seamen and never sailed with any lawyers from there. A lot of them were married and their wife’s were very avid Kirk goers in a lot of cases. Know this because some of them used to complain to me where their allotments were going into the offering box.
