Re: Fishy!
good time to build some fishery protection boats with a nice 4.5 gun on the front end , confiscate a few boats off the fishermen too . Problem is British fishing vessels are Spanish owned

Quite a lot of the Milford Haven fishing boats sold
their licenses to Spanish owner, now they complain
about fish caught in Welsh are shipped straight
to the continent with no benefit to the UK.

Saw a program recently where Spanish inspectors turned blind eye to under size catches being landed

Re: Fishy!
All the Spanish Fisheries Inspectors, all 8 of them, are based in Madrid, a lovely old Sea Fishing Port.
The French catch the fish in Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea , take it to Cherbourg and then into a Huge French Container Lorry, and then drive it up to Fleetwood. Dock Street Fish Wholesaler, I see it every week.

Re: Fishy!
it is better to land the undersized than throw dead fish back into the sea which we did in the UK

Re: Fishy!
EU Rules say that all fish caught that is not on the quota should be thrown back into the sea, So if a Fishing vessel is fishing for Cod and he has Hake mixed up in the net, including undersize ones, that has to be thrown back, these fish are dead and all they do is Pollute the sea bed where the fish breed, and so that poisons the fish stocks,
But MEPS in Brussels who wear suspenders and nylon stockings under their striped suits know more than an old Fisherman.
