Problem is Terry that the tax laws are such that big companies are able to avoid, not evade, taxes.
They can afford to employ accountants much smarter than the one used by the tax office and they know every loop hole there is to avoid payment.

I avoid Starbuck's too , not because they dodge taxes , but because the coffee tastes crap

    Hi Terry.
How about BIiar and Brown , two good Socialists, who avoid tax. Tax avoidance is legal, Tax evasion is not.
They put their earnings of millions into their own Charity. So that becomes Tax Free, All donations to Charities are Tax Free,
Then they live on the Expenses of that charity, for example, Gordon Brown has £12,500 a WEEK expenses to live on. Expenses are also TAX FREE.
so it is Not only the big Corporations who do it but our Good Socialist Labour MPs, no doubt many others Lib, Cons etc, also do it.

Try putting your Pension into your own Charity, tax free and then have a lot of expenses to live on. all tax free.
I have thought about it as I pay £120 a month in Tax on my Pension.

    Cheers
    Brian

Brian I think the £12500 per week you mention is for the staff wages etc it does not go into Gordon Browns pocket.Read the attached and go to the last paragraph.

Thanks for that Jim, but the article that I read last year did say he lives on the £12,500 a month. Now I cannot remember where it was from.
I guess you just cannot trust the media anymore.

Brian what amuses me you often post articles such as this one having a go at Labour and it always amuses me how people are quick to press the like and thanks buttons without knowing if there is any truth in the story.

I click " like / thanks " for a lot of anti - politician stuff , I regard politicians as inherently corrupt , some more than others . their mouth moves they lie . I listened to McDonald's speech yesterday about taking back PFI's . our local hospital was done by Blair / Brown on a well tested contract , Carillon are making a fortune out of it , they will screw the government legally on a buy out attempt costing more than the contract . Which planet did this lot come from ? an extra doctor attends a staff meeting the NHS are charged £ 28.00 for his extra tea and biscuit , this was to Tony's doing . To be fair I think Boris a dangerous buffoon , Cable as a duffer , Farage as a fantasist , and the SNP as failed socialists . the only Labour man is Dennis Skinner . so I like anti politic posts with a passion , even the Aussie ones ,

As you say Rob you treat them all the same but that doesn't happen here.Nobody can deny that Sir Winston Churchill was a great man but it was,or is,well known in the catering game that he was one drunken, ignorant man when he was at the dining table, there was a post on here the other day on that subject did it get any likes,no it was given a wide berth. It was not about the mans politics it was a true story regarding his behavior if that would've been about Blair,Brown or Prescott the like and thanks buttons would've been red hot.

Jim I am just finding a balance here, I watch Corbyn and his bent cronies, and what they say about the rich, They are just as bad,
We all know the Rich or Certain Conservatives are bent and corrupt, I am just pointing out that the Good old Socialists Labour lot are just as bad,
I do not support any political party they are all a bunch of corrupt con men and women, only after their own ends and not the peoples.
Look at Dennis Skinner, doing a younger man out of a job, He is 85 and still collecting his pension and a Big Salary and Expenses. Good Socialist.
.But when Labour shouts about the Rich and they are also rich, what is that all about.
I wonder how many in that Conference centre in Brighton are worth a million pounds plus, Are they all honest people, some yes and a lot No, and a few gullible,

Corbyn shouted on TV the other day, "We are going to close the Grammar Schools,"
Now he was educated in a private fee paying Prep school and then Grammar School and almost failed with two E grades one short of Failure, Dianne Abbott went to Grammar School, and sends her sons to Fee paying prep schools,
They all did University, . BUT They do not want your children to do that.
What is wrong in the Labour Party's eyes with a kid going to Grammar School and receive a better education than in a Comprehensive school.??
I had no education at all due to WW2, So I encouraged my two sons to get a good education and they went to Grammar School and got where they are today.
Nothing wrong with a good education, every kid should have the chance, In this day and age of technology, without a good education a kid is going nowhere.

Just read some of the things Tony Bliar does to avoid Tax, It is Legal but again it is Tax avoidance. Not Tax evasion which is wrong..
type "How much tax does Tony Blair Pay." his money is shifted around so many times, hard to keep track of it.
He has Ten houses around the country worth £25,000,000, the Tax Payer has to pay for his body guard, of 12 Scotland Yard detectives cost us over £840,000 a year. Why?
He owns several companies, money is shuffled around and then each company has a Tax allowance which when all added together means a lot less tax is paid, than if he was One company with one Tax allowance, He paid £375.000 on £12,000,000 .
Many conservatives also do the same. But they still Tax me on my Pension.
    Brian
