Yes, he has WWI and WW2 medal cards.
He died at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on January 9th 1943. Cause of death was Bilateral Lobar Pneumonia, Chronic Myocarditis and carbuncles on back of the neck.

He joined ST PETERSBURG on 24/9/1919
    AMSTERDAM on 4/7/1941.

If you needed to find out other ships then you would probably have to do some digging at The National Archives in Kew beginning with the Crew Agreement for AMSTERDAM for 1941 and it should give you his previous ship.

    Hello Hugh
Where did you find this information about William Walter Frederick Joy? I havent seen this before. I knew he was on the Amsterdam but not that he joined St Petersburg in 1919.
I have Pictures of some Medals he got and one is That he got Awarded for Service in the Burma Campaign Between 1941-1945. but the Medal says 1939. And also has the Torpedo and Badge Bar and Star. I dont
    know what this is.
    Thank you
    Theresa

    Hi Theresa,

If you look on his CR10 card there is a ship's official number to the left of his photo. It reads, 123940, 29.4.1919 meaning he joined the ship ST PETERSBURG ON 29.4.1919.
I don't think he was awarded the Burma Star but he was certainly awarded the 1939-45 Star, The Atlantic Star and the War Medal. Could you post a copy of his medal file and/or the medals you have and I will let you know what he was awarded?

    Regards
    Hugh
