New Scottish Ferries
It would appear that the GLEN SANNOX will be delayed again.
Apparently the MCA are demanding that extra stairways are to be installed and doors and doorways increased in size.
What a cockup.

Re: New Scottish Ferries
Yet another £6 million handed to the yard. Someone needs to get that embarassment towed away to a yard capable of finishing the job.

Maybe the Company Heads have investments in South Korea and want the Govt to buy from there.

Re: New Scottish Ferries
Moving the Ferries for completion will not solve the problem.
In days gone buy the yard would submit drawings to the owners and the Insurance company for approval, this process does not seem to happen in this case.
Why are the MCA only getting involved now and why were the not brought into the design loop?
During the early stages of the build, the yard wanted to have meetings with Cmal to discuss design changes, Cmal refused.
These Ferries are a SNP vanity project with to many people/ departments involved with no one taking overall responsibility.
The ferries are dual fuel, LNG and Diesel Considering the ferries are late the infrastructure for refilling is not available at the relevant jetties and may never be due to the cost of transporting the gas by road.
The ferries were an SNP vanity project that has blown up in their faces.

Vic, there are quite a few LNG bunker barges / vessels about now with many small LNG bunker stations as well (initiated in Sweden / Norway but spreading fast). Companies like MAN are building almost off the shelf kit for shoreside installations.

The ferry fiasco under the control of the SNP must be hugely damaging to Scottish shipbuilding. I’m amazed at the level of incompetence in the various organisations involved in the project

hi gordan blackwood #8
good evening, sadly scotlands ferry delays may be over soon, but just like buses there will be four along soon from turkey, as for your great shipbuilding history you can thank the poison dwarf and her ilk for its further demise and sadly i hear its future may be as well, But hopefully the shipbuilding in scotland can be saved, unlike her and her lunatic party they will be gone soon, i believe they are eight hundred thousand in the red, and thats before you start adding up the lawyers fees for keeping the whole cabal out on bail.

Sounds about 'Par' for any public work where politicians get involved.
Thye should stick to what they are good at, that is very little.
