Hi Brian.
My Aunty and my two little girl cousins were killed by a direct hit by what was described as the biggest bomb dropped on Swansea in the blitz, she had already lost twins from decease two years before the war. Our village also lost among others, my brothers mate on his first trip out from the Vindi when his ship was torpedoed 16 year old.

Interesting that at the time the Spanish Flu was still about at that time.
Also the playing of the Sailors Hymn, very good to hear.
The one minute silence had only begun the previous year, a number of stories of how it started.
But the most common is around two Canadian reporters who were reported to have stood on the steps of a London building to observe the silence.
The King was informed of this and the concept of a minutes silence came into being.
