I would just like to say thank you for your birthday wishes, it was a nice surprise. As you know I was looking for my father's service history, James Eric Mansell. I contacted the Royal Navy and they have found his records but it can take up to 80 working days for me to receive the information. There is still living members of the family who think he served in the Merchant Navy also, perhaps after WW11. I will let you know the outcome.
