    Default The new Panama Canal

    Here is a video of how ships will transit the new Panama canal, looks like they have done away with mules in the new locks and they have huge retaining ponds for the water in the new locks rather than constantly topping up with water from the Gatun lakes.

    John my son went through the canal in February I posted some pics and there were comments on here re;new mules.Photo here taken Feb this year.

    This a photo of the southern extension running parallel with Mira Flores Lock approaches. I took it in January this year.
    at the Northern end I saw a Very Big Chinese Container ship entering the new Locks, half a mile to port of the Gatun Locks.
